En relaci?n al ingreso al Caribe y Centro Am?rica del polvo del Sahara, los Servicio?Hidrometeorol?gicos han estado informado que ya han registrado presencia del polvo del Sahara desde el martes 23 de junio, iniciando concentraciones ligeras, observ?ndose el cielo con bruma, cielos opacos como se dice popularmente, causado por el ingreso lento del polvo desde El Caribe, cruzando haca el oeste.?La aparici?n del polvo desde ?frica se repite cada a?o, en ocasiones el viento alisio no logra llevarlo tan lejos de su origen, sin embargo, el presente a?o se registra flujo del viento desde ?frica acelerado, lo cual transporta la masa de polvo hasta la regi?n, observ?ndose que las concentraciones son muy altas, por lo que en su camino por el oc?ano provoca que las ondas tropicales se muevan r?pidamente, provocando tormentas intensas pero de corta duraci?n y r?pido desplazamiento, formando tormentas con vientos los cuales donde ocurran pueden limpiar la atmosfera de las concentraciones de polvo, el d?a mi?rcoles se espera que cruce nueva onda tropical la regi?n, luego la siguiente onda tardar? 3 a 4 d?as en cruzar, justo ser?n esos d?as los de mayor concentraci?n de polvo.

The World Meteorological Organization is seeking to verify a reported new record temperature north of the Arctic Circle of 38? Celsius. This was on 20 June in the Russian town of Verkhoyansk amid a prolonged Siberian heatwave and increase in wildfire activity.

Turkey faced an unprecedented heatwave between 16 and 22 May according to the analysis of the Turkish State Meteorological Service. At 117 observation stations spread over 35 cities, the highest temperatures for May were recorded. TSMS issued a warning on 13th May forecasting that temperatures would increase in western parts of the country including Marmara, Aegean, western Mediterranean and central Anatolia and reach 9 to 13?C above normal.

Temperatures are likely to be above normal this summer over almost the entire Arab region, notably Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Northern Morocco, Southern Oman, Yemen, Djibouti and Somalia. Normal to above normal conditions are predicted over southern Morocco, Western Mauritania, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and northern Oman.

Indonesia takes special precaution of wildfire risk in peatlands areas, and attempt to mitigate the risk by rewetting the peatlands by weather modification activities.?The Agency for Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) is working closely with partner authorities in this efforts by providing critical information such as cloud growth potential map from weather forecasts, and real time satellite and radar data analyses to determine flight sorties departure and pinpoint location of cloud cells to be seeded. For this tall order, we had made 16 flight sorties during the period of 13-31 May 2020 that associated with 138,1 mm of rainfall.

At 8:50 a.m. on June 14, this year?s 2nd typhoon Nuri (tropical storm scale) made landfall in coastal regions of Hailing Island, Yangjiang, Guangdong province, becoming the first typhoon that landed in China this year. Wind and rainfall brought by the typhoon have effectively alleviated high temperature and drought conditions in portions of Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan. However, urban waterlogging, mount torrents, and geological hazards incurred by heavy rainfall in some localities should not be neglected and call for elaborate prevention work.

From May 18 to 31, 300 trainees from over 70 countries have joined online short-term climate monitoring and forecasting technique training held by China Meteorological Administration Training Centre (CMATC).This training course has not only recruited trainees from Asia, Africa and Latino America, but also attracted staff from national climate and hydrological services in Denmark, Japan, Italy, Spain, and New Zealand.Patrick Parrish, Chief of Training Activities Division at World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has written to express full recognition of the success of the training course.
